Privacy Policy – Diary Event
Effective date: 10 September 2025
Diary Event ("the App") is a personal journaling app that lets you record your mood and events, optionally with photos, videos, and voice notes. We respect your privacy and design the App to minimize the data we collect.
1. Information We Collect
On-device content you create: Your events, notes, selected feelings/sources, and any attached media (photos, videos, voice recordings) are stored locally on your device in the App’s storage. We do not run our own servers for this content.
Purchase information: If you buy the premium upgrade, purchases are processed by Apple and managed in-app via RevenueCat. RevenueCat may process identifiers necessary to deliver entitlements. We do not receive your full payment details.
Support email: If you contact us, we will receive the information you provide in that email.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the core journaling features and store your entries on-device.
- To process and restore premium access using Apple In‑App Purchases and RevenueCat.
- To respond to support requests you initiate.
3. Data Storage and Sync
Your entries and media are saved locally in the App’s Documents directory under a media/<YYYY_MM> structure. The App does not require an account and does not upload your entries to our servers. If you delete the App, iOS may remove the data stored within the App’s container.
4. Permissions
- Camera: To capture photos/videos for your entries.
- Microphone: To record voice notes.
- Photos: To select media from your library (if you choose to add them).
- Local storage: To save your entries and media on your device.
All permissions are optional but required for their related features.
5. Third-Party Services
- Apple: App distribution and in‑app purchases.
- RevenueCat: Manages purchase entitlements (e.g., your premium status). See RevenueCat’s privacy notice for details.
We do not use advertising SDKs or behavioral analytics.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. If you believe a child provided us personal information via support email, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Choices
- You can manage camera, microphone, and photo permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can delete entries/media from within the App. Removing the App may also remove its local data.
- Premium purchases can be restored on the same Apple ID via the Restore option.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. We will revise the “Effective date” above when changes are made.
